About Us

October 2003 - April 2014

From October 2003 to April 2014, the founders and directors of Goodwills Ltd, Graham Bushell and Jim Goddard, managed a Willwriting company with an ethical approach to the public and their estate planning needs.

Jim Goddard, a former training and support officer for the Willwriters Association and the Association of Lawyers and Legal Advisers has been responsible for training the Goodwills Legal Services team of professionals employed in our legal department for many years.

Graham Bushell, a former regional manager to one of the then largest financial services companies in the UK, Abbey Life, has used his experience to recruit, market and develop the Goodwills Legal Services team of specialist Willwriting consultants. His network of contacts has encouraged over 300 financial advisers to use Goodwills Legal Services as a provider for their clients’ Wills and Trusts. After many years of running a successful Willwriting company for its clients, Graham Bushell and Jim Goddard stepped down as Directors in April 2013 with a new board taking over.

From April 2014 Onwards

In April 2014, Goodwills Legal Services Ltd. was created, with the purpose of providing a wider range of services and to provide reassurance to all of its clients by moving all of the company's work into the regulated sector. We are a law firm regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers and therefore also abide by their Code of Conduct, which can be found here: CLC code of conduct.

Together, the Goodwills Legal Services team of consultants, professional advisers, office staff and qualified drafting team work to provide cost effective products for all of their clients. This has made Goodwills Legal Services one of the fastest growing Willwriting organisations in the country.

Goodwills Legal Services operates nationwide and is able to provide services across the whole of England and Wales through a network of trained advisers. Our advisers' training ensures that the solutions they explain to clients will be clearly understood and will make sense. We do not believe in the 'one size fits all' approach to advice. Our ethical standards and our code of practice ensure that our clients enjoy the very highest level of care and consideration

As a regulated law firm, our clients have the peace of mind of knowing that they are receiving advice to the very highest standards and that all of our work is covered by full PI insurance. We are also now able to offer a wider range of services, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate, Professional Executorship, Trusts, Court of Protection work and Property work, including a wide range of conveyancing services. Our Facilities

Our Head Office is located on the third floor of the Premier Solicitors building in Bedford. We have four meeting rooms available and so always try to be available for our clients at a time which is most convenient for them. We are also able to offer extended meeting times up to 7.00pm on weekdays and from 10.00am – 2.00pm on Saturdays – if these times would be more convenient for you then please do let us know and we will be happy to book an appointment for you.

We also have a large boardroom, which we primarily use for training our consultants and financial adviser partners (IFAs). It is as a result of these excellent facilities that we are able to ensure that all of the partners we work with receive the very best continuing training and are therefore able to provide the very best advice to all of our clients.
